Full day at leisure to enjoy the Bay of Islands; browse the pretty villages of Russell and Kerikeri, visit the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
Make an early start for the relatively long drive to the stunning Coromandel Peninsula. The area has long been a holiday playground for New Zealanders, and you’re sure to love its golden sandy beaches and forest-clad mountains.
Before you leave the Coromandel, visit Cathedral Cove. Then head south along the well-signposted, picturesque Pacific Coast Highway for the increasingly popular city of Tauranga.
Base yourself in Rotorua and explore the North Island’s volcanic plateau, home to geysers, mud pools and beautiful silica terraces.

Travel south via the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail to Martinborough and then on to Wellington, New Zealand’s sophisticated capital city.
