Trip Itinerary


  • Day 1

    Depart the UK

  • Day 2

    Arrive in the afternoon with a transfer to the hotel, before a briefing with the tour leader in the evening.

  • Day 3

    Start off by learning about Bali’s Hindu Faith and its Rural Practices. Firstly we go to Tanah Lot Temple, before continuing onto the village of Tunjuk. Afterwards travel onto the rice fields. Later we then transfer to the remote village of Belimbing. (B, L)

  • Day 4

    Spend the day hiking through rice terraces, remote villages, bamboo bridges, coffee plantations, lush forests, temples and gorges in Belimbing village. Transfer from the slopes of Mount Batukaru to Wongaya Gede for an overnight stay. (B, L)

  • Day 5

    After breakfast transfer to the UNESCO World Heritage Jatiluwih rice terraces to do a 2-3 hour hike learning about the ‘subok’ style of irrigation that has given the region its UNESCO status. Visit the Batukaru Temple before having lunch. After lunch have the opportunity to participate in a traditional Balinese temple ceremony before continuing to the Munduk area. (B, L)

  • Day 6

    After breakfast, start today’s hike into the dense tropical rainforest and follow a track through a combination of highland ecology and wet agriculture areas. Upon arriving at Banjar Village there may be time to soothe with a bath in the sacred hot spring, before transferring to the black-sand beach of Lovina for the night. (B, L)

  • Day 7

    Transfer to Menyali for today’s trek, with the chance to buy some locally produced hand-made crafts in the village. Lunch will be in a village before taking the winding footpath and stairs down into a valley to the five huge waterfalls of Sekumpul. Afterwards we head back onto the same path to transfer to Kintamani for the night. (B, L)

  • Day 8

    Today we get up early so we can get to the top of Mount Batur’s crater before the sunrise. After we then start our descent taking us along a narrow ridge along the crater rim before we get to the 1999 crater with its smoking cone. We will get time to observe the lava field before heading back to the hotel to change and for lunch before heading to Amed. (B, L)

  • Day 9

    The day is free to explore the beachside village of Amed, or enjoy some of the optional activities. For those who are not divers, then it is possible to go on a snorkelling trip, or take a cooking class if you do not want to just relax on the beach. (B)

  • Day 10

    After breakfast we leave Amed and head to Tirtagangga to look at the sacred water palace. We then transfer to start the hike from the village of Gumung, where you will see some of the most stunning views of Eastern Bali. After our descent we will finish on the beach for some time to relax, before transferring onto the village of Sidemen. (B, L)

  • Day 11

    Today have the choice of two hikes – one leisurely and one moderate both taking in different sights and areas of Bali. During both treks the local guide will lead you to some secret spots to admire the breathtaking view of Mount Agung. The rest of the day is then free for you to relax or go on a longer hike if you want to. (B, L)

  • Day 12

    Today we head out on a spiritual journey as we head to one of the oldest temples on the Island – Lempuyang Temple. We will then take a moderate 2 hour hike through the jungle to head up towards the temple. After visiting the temple head back down to the bus for our drive to Ubud. (B, L)

  • Day 13

    Today is a free day to explore Ubud at your leisure. Choose from wandering the town’s temples and museums to shopping in the boutique shops. The leader will be available to advise on possible activities for those who wish to do some. (B)

  • Day 14

    Transfer back to the airport for your flight home to the UK. (B)
