Depart London. Arrive in Windhoek on Day 2. After arrival, collect your vehicle and travel the short distance to your accommodation. Enjoy the day at leisure or explore the city centre with its colonial-style buildings, street cafes and craft markets.
Depart Windhoek and travel into the Namib Desert with its monumental dunes and ever-changing colours. This is the oldest desert on Earth and supports a vast diversity of adapted fauna and flora that accentuate this pristine environment even further. (B)
Rise early for the incredible colours of sunrise over the mighty dunes of the Namib Desert. From Sossusvlei visit Deadvlei. On your return visit the Sesriem Canyon, an 18 million year old gorge eroded into the conglomerate floor. (B)
Travel via the Kuiseb and Ghaub passes to Swakopmund – a tranquil coastal town. There are numerous optional activities on offer including scenic flights, dolphin cruises, quad biking, parasailing and dune boarding. (B)
Leaving Swakopmund travel via the Otjozondjupa region to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation. Okonjima is a 55,000 acre Game Reserve and home to rehabilitated cheetah, hyenas and leopards. (BD)
After breakfast travel south towards Windhoek. Make a stop at Okahandja and stroll through one of the large craft markets. Drop your car off at the airport in time for your flight home.
